hi,

I am running slackware 10, trying to install and run elightenment 0.16.6.
I had a bit of trouble with freetype1 not wanting to compile the test software
so I just did the libraries and everything seems to have gone through okay.
I got e to compile and install correctly, only when I actually start e, it just
comes back to the prompt with the error

/usr/local/enlightenment/bin/enlightenment: error while loading shared libraries:
libttf.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I've looked through the archive and have found one post with similar trouble, and the answer was to "emerge freetype", which I'm unsure about what that means.
If anyone could provide clarification for my delima, I would be grateful.

Thanks,
John Halbert

emerge freetype is for a gentoo user: it means to install freetype through the emerge command. emerge is the command for the portage tree. Find the same command for slackware, and perhaps install freetype again? Solving the problem for the freetype test program might work.
Hope this helps
John
