i have started emailing people who have a reserve price and asking
what it is. sometimes they say, sometimes not. i think it's only
fair if you're gonna make an effort and email... bob

>The problem with a reserve auction is that many people will not bid on them.
>I am one of those people. My reasons are two fold. The first is that I do
>not know what the reserve is, I do not want to waste my time bidding on
>something that I may not get, even if I am the high bidder. The second
>reason is that I feel that the people who put a reserve on something have no
>faith in the system. Also I have found that many people place a high reserve
>price so that they don't really have to sell it. There is a reason that ebay
>charges for reserve auctions now. I have sold many things on ebay and have
>never set a reserve and have never been disappointed about how much I got
