i have a 280c (in a 270c case) that won't run off of batteries. good
batteries that test out in a 230 won't sustain the 280c at all. the
guy i got it from said that it wouldn't boot off of a battery, but it
turns out it won't run on one. he says that the mac people he talked
to said it was the motherboard, but apparently it does the same thing
with 2 separate 280c MB (he included one w/ auction - haven't tried
it yet).

the PRAM battery is going out too. don't know if that's related. or
what is.. unless he messed up the case while rebuilding... i'm gonna
check the battery contacts, though it knows when there is a battery
inserted.

any ideas? thanks a lot, bob
