Yes, didn't have ATA at all. Only if some friends have problems with bad Win disks (bad sectors etc. => dd_rescue)...;-) No hangs but slower. I'll have a second look at it. 2.5.48-mm1 have additional IO scheduler hacks. Some progress with KDE (3.1 beta/rc) and shared pagetables. Normal startup hangs but I had some luck with running the KDE progs by hand. More about it in another post.
