Do you mean other architectures as in other OSs or as in other processor
architectures for an already supported OS? The former depends on how
similar that OS is to Linux, the latter on how similar that processor
architecture is to the ones already supported. In general, the latter
will be much easier because there are relatively little dependencies on
the processor architecture and the most important kinds are already
supported.
