No. Not only VIA.
It should read: All ("older") Athlon systems.!!!
AMD's own, SiS, Ali, nForge and of course Intel (for there P4).
There was an intention when AMD gave advice in August '99 (Athlon I release)
which power supplies to use.

Frage/Symptom :
Das Betriebssystem l��t sich mit meinem neuen MSI Mainboard nicht
installieren.
Ursache :
Der hohe Strombedarf neuer CPUs, Grafikkarten, gro�er Speicherbausteine und
einiger PCI Karten (z.B. TV Karten) sorgt daf�r das die bisher �blichen 250
Watt Netzteile die ben�tigte Leistung nicht mehr aufbringen.
Antwort/L�sung :
MSI empfiehlt ein ausreichend dimmensioniertes Netzteil mit den folgenden
Mindestwerten einzusetzen.
+3,3 Volt - 20 Ampere
+5,0 Volt - 30 Ampere
Netzteile mit diesen Werten haben �blicherweise eine Gesamtleistung von ca.350
Watt. Bitte beachten Sie aber das es hierunter auch Netzteile gibt die die
oben gemachten Angaben nicht erf�llen (Server-Netzteile) und daher ungeeignet
sind.

PS For an dual Athlon MP/XP you should use a 400W unit (with the right numbers
for 3.3V and 5.5V), at least.
