The reason why drm needs an irq is because it can do DMA transfers from
system memory to video card memory (much faster). I take it you know why DMA
transfers need an irq (;

Try putting your ethernet card in a different PCI slot. On most motherboards
(except high-end server boards), the PCI slots are hardwired/routed to
certain irqs. Your motherboard manual should state which PCI slots share
irqs (that includes the AGP slot).
