My association with VA Linux Systems came to and end last week. Many of
you will not know that I was never actually an employee of Precision
Insight or VA. I started at PI as a contractor, with the expectation
that once US work visa issues were resolved I'd relocate from Australia
and come on as a full-time employee. Of course, the acquisition of PI
by VA happened during this time, which made things slightly more complex
than I had hoped.

Unfortunately, due to circumstances I will not go into here, I never
actually became an employee of VA and my contract was cancelled at the
end of last month.

What does this mean with respect to the DRI and Mesa projects? At the
very least, I am going to take a well-earned break from things, and put
aside all of my recent work on the DRM, Mesa 3.5 and the various
drivers. Some of the work that's nearing completion (backwards
compatibility stuff in the DRM in particular) will be handed over to VA,
but I've stopped working on everything else.

This break may very well turn into a permanant thing, and if that is the
case I wish everyone the best of luck, it has been great working on Mesa
and the drivers for the last year or two. I will certainly follow
progress with interest no matter what happens.

Oh yeah, and this is my permanent email address as well, for those who
want it.
