Hey folks, You may recall that we presented a draft on "Collision Free Key Tags for DNSSEC" at the last IETF meeting (122):
Slides: https://datatracker.ietf.org/meeting/122/materials/slides-122-dnsop-sessa-collision-free-key-tags-for-dnssec-00 Recording: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CbEVXo07KS8&t=392s Draft text: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/draft-huque-dnsop-keytags-01 There appeared to be strong support for this work at the mic line (Jim Reid's lone dissent aside; see the recording), and in subsequent hallway discussions. In particular, many validator implementations are already doing some form of limitation of colliding keytags, and it would be good to standardize this to avoid unpredictable and inconsistent behavior. We spoke again with the chairs recently, and they asked that we post the draft to the list to prompt additional discussion in preparation for a later adoption call. Please review the draft and speak up if you have comments, and would like to see this draft adopted (or not). Shumon, Mark, and Yorgos.
