Does anyone have a summary for the meeting and also for last month's
meeting? This is what we went over while I was at the meeting for ~30
minutes:
* Brief mention of this new SwiftUI-like cross-platform GUI framework
project, Aparoksha
(https://fosdem.org/2025/schedule/event/fosdem-2025-4562-building-truly-native-cross-platform-desktop-apps-with-a-focus-on-gnome-/)
* Noted that unfortunately the author didn't know about GNUstep, we
are not a very popular project
* Brief mention of my current work on Swift compiler - I am able to
build it and I started building it with ObjC interop enabled earlier
this week but had to leave for something else and got busy (annoyingly
Swift build times are multiple hours)
* I still want to work on CAAppKitBridge
* Debian release date is coming up next week
* Base and Back are fairly stable
* There have been many changes in Gui since the last release, we
ignored our attempt to code-freeze Gui, but there are no
release-critical bugs
* No ABI breakages except moving a few ivars from public to
protected; we don't think it will cause ABI breakage but will bump the
soname just to make sure
I don't know what else happened at this meeting or at the previous
meeting, so it would be nice if somebody else could contribute meeting
notes for other parts of the meeting.
