I'm open to further discussion on it, but yes, that's my take. Illumos won't
care about that label (and probably won't be able to do anything with the
device until you put a proper (e.g. EFI) label on it). So having it there
doesn't hurt on illumos. On FreeBSD, you could look for the label in all the
customary places that FreeBSD can put it.
