One of the most notable changes is that the *“Time of Day”* animated wallpaper has been split out of the GNOME and MATE background packages into dedicated sub-packages:
* *f45-backgrounds-gnome-time-of-day* * *f45-backgrounds-mate-time-of-day*This change provides a cleaner and more consistent wallpaper selection experience in the *Appearance* section of Fedora Workstation and its derivatives, while making the optional animated wallpapers available only to users who want them. To enable the feature, simply install the appropriate *Time of Day* package for your desktop environment.
Additionally, as a reminder, the default Fedora 45 wallpaper includes *wide-gamut color support*, delivering richer and more accurate colors on displays that support wide color gamuts.
