Well, the idea is to make things *less* difficult for everyone. Other content and documentation sets that used to be on the wiki have already moved to text in a git repository, so I don't think I'm proposing something that's completely unfamiliar or unfriendly to contributors. We can document how to propose a Change using the Forgejo web interface as well.
Hopefully, changing the approach and introducing reliable automation around it can actually help solve some of the problems that we have had with the existing process.
