There would be legitimate reasons to still include a smaller one like this ( https://github.com/apache/tomcat/blob/master/modules/stuffed/tomcat-jni.json ) for OpenSSL only, so removing the descriptor is not a good move. io.netty.internal.tcnative.SSLPrivateKeyMethod is being used by something.
