In build/build.xml, I changed:

    <ant dir="${jasper.home}"   target="build-only">
To:

    <ant dir="${jasper.home}/jasper2"   target="build-only">

And the build completed with no error messages.

Total time: 11 minutes 0 seconds 

Note: I just performed a clean checkout
