I agree with Naoki. The cost of supporting multiple versions is high, and we
should aim for the removal of Scala 2.10 support. In any case, we need to
decide on PIO’s roadmap as soon as possible and aggressively and explicitly
announce the deprecation of Scala 2.10 support.
Also, the jira which discusses about removing Scala 2.10 support altogether in
Spark 2.3.0 is in progress. See
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SPARK-19810
Given the circumstances, it is not desirable to investing in 2.10.
