OK, I am probably doing something wrong. I go to the "Guide to Testing Development Versions of Plugins" page and click on the link to development versions (I am already suspicious because it is at codehaus rather than apache). I navigate to org/apache/maven/plugins/maven-release-plugin/2.0-beta-4-SNAPSHOT but the only version I find is ...-20051110.054127-1.
