We actually use XMLSocketReceiver at work and when that product is eventually ported to Log4j 2, it would be weird to deliver a log4j-samples jar as part of our runtime. As it is now, log4j-server is 'normal' but the fact that it comes from the samples repo is a bit odd but not as bad as delivering a log4j-samples. What is the solution? I still like have a the module log4j-server in the main repo.
