Since the geode-examples have been moved to a new repo, the source tree and
build need some enhancements:
- LICENSE, NOTICE, and KEYS files
- {{.gitignore}} stuff
- travis CI configuration
- build enhancements for releasing source artfifacts
- build enhancements to automatically download a geode distribution for testing
