Using Java with NSS is something I don't believe is a good idea for
applets.  IMO it is Oracle's call creating useful key-store mechanisms
for the  different platforms.  So far they have only done that for Windows.

Mozilla+Redhat OTOH, ought to rework the *NIX keystore so that it one
day actually matches what Windows have had since 95 or 98.  Static
libraries do not represent the future; Google use services in Android 4 and
this is where the rest of the industry is going as well.
