I translate on the fly: after klicking on the sealed envelope: Message security: Message was signed This message contains a valid digital signature. The message has not changed since it has been sent. Signature by... CA: thawte... List signature cert. Message was not encrypted ... So thunderbird tells me that this message WAS signed. > > and thunderbird shows this with the signed envelope icon. > > You wrote previously that the certificate was attached (as opposed to > signed). Can I receive a mail in the same fashion you received it? I'd > be glad to follow up on this. Since thunderbird doesn't list any attachments I looked at the source and saw this: ------=_NextPart_000_0004_01CA0528.0E8701C0 Content-Type: application/x-pkcs7-signature; name="smime.p7s" Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64 Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="smime.p7s" So, either thunderbird lies about the message being signed or I don't get it. Shall I forward that message to you? Is that enough?
