alternatives out there like StartSSL that I use (Thanks Eddy!).

Indeed this subject has been covered extensively in blogs and at
Bugzilla; it's hard to convince somebody otherwise who doesn't see the
value in the vetting by a third party. Not much to do here...except

PS. How about using your StartSSL client certificate for your email (I
suppose you received one during registration)? :-)
