During about 5 years, after Dobbertin found a number of potential 
failures that left everybody thinking it wouldn't resist very long 
anymore, there was no new result on md5. Until Wang Xiaoyun broke it in 
2004.

RSA factorisation has gotten boring for most people, I believe.
That's the ideal setup to be taken by surprise when someone does find 
something new.
