We've discussed this several times and the response was always positive. It hasn't caused a bunch of trouble to rust upgrade for the deps that already track master. If we upgrade deps often enough, we will probably already have a version of the code that will work when we upgrade Servo. This has happened to me in the past with glfw and rust-phf.
If you're going to start converting deps to track nightly, I would start with the ones most used by external projects.
