One example of "better" would be being able to see "the diff with the first N patches applied" without having to do painstaking work. This is something the "attach patches to Bugzilla" approach lacks. Mozreview kinda sorta has it in that you can pull the whole thing into a local tree and diff locally, but it's not as nice as it could be.
