That thread about installer size was regarding the (controversial)
inclusion of 3 MB of ICU data for SpiderMonkey's ECMA-402 i18n API.
Chris More organized a funnelcake experiment (bug 933847) to inflate the
Firefox 25 installer by 3 MB. The report's conclusions:
* Increasing the download size from 22MB to 25MB had no statistical
affect on conversion rates, so we landed ICU.
* (Countries' average) Internet speed dramatically affected conversion
rates: 70% success in the fastest countries and 30% in the slowest
countries.
Going forward, it would be interesting to see a dashboard track Firefox
installer size every day (or show every changeset's delta on Treeherder).
