Mass auto-closing bugs based on criteria having nothing to do with the content of the individual bug reports is very off-putting, as Jamie Zawinski succinctly expressed here: http://www.jwz.org/doc/cadt.html I have an idea of how Jamie might have felt to have seen these types of auto-close messages because that has happened to me for some bug reports of mine in various projects.
