Mass auto-closing bugs based on criteria having nothing to do with the content 
of the individual bug reports is very off-putting, as Jamie Zawinski succinctly 
expressed here:

I have an idea of how Jamie might have felt to have seen these types of 
auto-close messages because that has happened to me for some bug reports of 
mine in various projects.

That being said, I think that a WORKSFORME status is appropriate if the 
provided test case no longer reproduces the bug in the latest version of the 
software.
