For 4 months now, we've been dealing with intermittent segfaults in gcc
during compilation, most often in IonBuilder.cpp. We've been tracking
these failures in bug 820796. Given that this is pointing to a compiler
bug, it seems unlikely that we're going to get much traction with fixing
this on our side. So, what would it take for us to look into other Linux
compiler options? It seems we're a few gcc versions behind at this
point, so maybe upgrading to a newer version? What about clang?
