I hope it will work with tests! I would love to switch Sync's unit tests over to TLS if I could. We currently use httpd.js as an importable module from within the xpcshell tests themselves.
We already have httpd.js that gets copied to bin/components. I am introducing httpsd.js as part of the work as well, that also gets copied to the right place (however, I didn't check httpd.js can be instantiated with createInstance).
I thought someone told me it was preferred to use httpd.js as an importable module, not as a component and that component support is only provided for legacy reasons.
