I noticed that "-j4" option to run parallel compilation did not seem
to take effect during the local compilation of 24.4.0/comm-esr source files.

I am using customized mozconfig, but
almost the same mozconfig (except for the OBJECT directory location)
is used for compiling the current comm-central and I see parallel
compilation then.

It may be a well known issue, but if not, it may be worth a look.

Given that the current comm-esr seems to honor "-j4",
it may not be a big deal in the long run.

OTOH, if earlier comm-esr trees of other version (maybe the next ESR?)
does not honor "-jN" flag, and many compilation takes place
to test these versions every day(?), then
we may be wasting wall time (on a multi-core computer) inside
mozilla compilation farm.

Of course, if we compile such a version maybe just once every day, again it
may not be a big deal.

This was observed under linux 64-bit. (Debian GNU/Linux adm64)

TIA
