I picked up this task because it's urgent and I saw nobody assigned yet. Turned out to be more complex than expected.
It is true that there is no transition for libglycin-1-0 -> libglycin-2-0, but there is a transition involving 2 packages for glycin-loaders -> glycin-2-loaders. Affected packages are loupe and shortwave (both rust). Loupe (currently pending MIR) we can easily update because it's vendored, but if we want to update shortwave it would have to become vendored too. I have a branch here: https://salsa.debian.org/ubuntu-dev-team/glycin/-/merge_requests/3 And a ppa build here: https://launchpad.net/~aleasto/+archive/ubuntu/tests/+sourcepub/17498077/+listing-archive-extra Still looking for debcrafters' help with the transition. ** Also affects: loupe (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: shortwave (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: gdk-pixbuf (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Wishlist -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to loupe in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2120186 Title: Update glycin to version 2.0~ Status in gdk-pixbuf package in Ubuntu: New Status in glycin package in Ubuntu: In Progress Status in loupe package in Ubuntu: New Status in shortwave package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: mutter 49 will add a new dependency on glycin >= 2.0: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/merge_requests/4554 glycin 2.0 is currently available as a beta release: https://download.gnome.org/sources/glycin/2.0/ Updating glycin to version 2.0 will require a transition of its C library from SONAME 1 to 2.
