Hey Daniel thanks for your help.
I tried to correlate before.. what happens all the time (why I opened this bug) is the "system is too slow" message. That one correlates. I see it every time it happens. screen last flickered at 11:17:05 - then went out (blank screen) for like 10 seconds when it came back this was in log: mrt 19 11:15:38 moya gnome-shell[1690]: ../clutter/clutter/clutter-actor.c:10558: The clutter_actor_set_allocation() function can only be called from within the implementation of the ClutterActor::allocate() virtual function. mrt 19 11:17:01 moya CRON[194105]: pam_unix(cron:session): session opened for user root by (uid=0) mrt 19 11:17:01 moya CRON[194106]: (root) CMD ( cd / && run-parts --report /etc/cron.hourly) mrt 19 11:17:01 moya CRON[194105]: pam_unix(cron:session): session closed for user root mrt 19 11:17:02 moya gnome-shell[1690]: libinput error: client bug: timer event20 debounce: scheduled expiry is in the past (-3ms), your system is too slow mrt 19 11:17:02 moya gnome-shell[1690]: libinput error: client bug: timer event20 debounce short: scheduled expiry is in the past (-16ms), your system is too slow mrt 19 11:17:28 moya appimagekit_a54bb74a72ee1d5a34b41e1d364d4ae4-Telegram_Desktop.desktop[4221]: [ALSOFT] (EE) Failed to set real-time priority for thread: Operation not permitted (1) mrt 19 11:17:28 moya gnome-shell[1690]: st_widget_get_theme_node called on the widget [0x56258cf96980 StWidget] which is not in the stage. I have another window capturing for the keyword "evdi" - no hits there. :( -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to mutter in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1920036 Title: [DisplayLink] screen flicker on gnome with t450s with ultra dock Status in mutter package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: picture on monitor connected to DisplayPort flickers occasionally. between 1 and 20 times per hour. searched for similar bugs or problems, related to docking station. Does not happen when using laptop standalone / connect screen manually. DisplayLink Driver is installed/compiled from official website. whenever the flickering happens, this appears in log: "libinput error: client bug: timer event20 debounce short: scheduled expiry is in the past (-10ms), your system is too slow" anything I can contribute? fix? I tried to get daily builds of intel-driver but that broke wayland/gdm so I rolled back. only link I could find that seems relevant is https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1572667 - which expired. thanks Andreas ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 20.04 Package: mutter 3.36.7+git20201123-0.20.04.1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.8.0-45.51~20.04.1-generic 5.8.18 Uname: Linux 5.8.0-45-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu27.16 Architecture: amd64 CasperMD5CheckResult: skip CurrentDesktop: GNOME Date: Thu Mar 18 16:18:08 2021 InstallationDate: Installed on 2021-03-13 (5 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 20.04.2.0 LTS "Focal Fossa" - Release amd64 (20210209.1) SourcePackage: mutter UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mutter/+bug/1920036/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : desktop-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
