Wow, you dug up a very old bug. 😉 I'm not sure if my multi monitor issue in this version (18.04), that I'm not able to switch left and right Monitor, is a variant of it. At moment, it's not possible to set my left monitor as Secondary Monitor (my TV) and the right as primary. It may work temporary but the system lost these settings sometimes and sometimes it moves my desktop Icons randomly, after a reboot from one monitor to the other.
I never had the originally described error on newer Version.
