Hello Mike again,
Thank you for submitting this bug and reporting a problem with Thunderbird.

You made this bug report in 2009 and there have been several versions of
Ubuntu and Thunderbird since then.

Could you confirm that this is no longer a problem and that we can close the
ticket?
Or, if it is still a problem, could you run the following (only once):
apport-collect 427270

and upload the updated logs and and any other logs that are relevant for
this particular issue.

Thank you again for helping make Ubuntu and Thunderbird better.

Title:
Thunderbird uses blank subject line when replying to an individual
  email from a MIME digest

Status in thunderbird package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: thunderbird

When one opens an email attached to a MIME digest (since one cannot
reply from the digest email itself), the subject line incorrectly has
"Re: " and nothing else. The subject is clearly available in the email
being replied to, but is not copied to the reply. Please make sure
that subject line gets copied properly.
