Olivier, thanks for your reply. I can't add much to what I've already said but the frequency of the problem told me that I needed to report the issue.
As I now suspend the laptop with the browser closed I'm not seeing the problem which also affected Google Chrome. The bookmarks menu is not particularly large, probably around 100 items in around 10 folders. I can't reproduce the issue by just suspending my laptop for a minute or two as a test but I was experiencing the problem on an almost daily basis, that is each morning after being suspended overnight for between six and eight hours. I'll let you know if I see the issue with Ubuntu 17.10 or 18.04 (dev). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to chromium-browser in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1728567 Title: "Other bookmarks" menu doesn't drop down after coming back from suspend Status in chromium-browser package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: I'm reporting this bug against Chromium as I'm not seeing this issue with any other application apart from Google Chrome. Please reassign if Chromium is not at fault. For several releases of Chromium I've not been able to use the "Other bookmarks" menu after I have brought my laptop out of suspend mode. The menu button highlights when clicked with the mouse but the menu doesn't drop down. After restarting the browser normal operation of that menu is restored.
