Title:
1002:682f Unity does not start after installing fglrx-updates Radeon
  HD 7700M Series

Status in AMD fglrx video driver:
  Confirmed
Status in “fglrx-installer-updates” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
After installing ATI proprietary drivers for my Radeon video card,
Unity doesn't start anymore. LightDM shows up, and I'm able to log in,
  but Unity doesn't load.

Obs: The same occurs when installing fglrx package (if I choose it,
  instead of fglrx-updates).

  Potential duplicate of bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source
  /xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/1068404 .

WORKAROUND: Removing the package fixes the problem, getting back to
  the opensource driver (ati).

  WORKAROUND:
