Title: xorg GPU freezing Status in “xorg-server” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Using ubuntu 10.10, intel i7 quad core, Radeon HD 3450. Xorg freezes pretty regularly. Keyboard and mouse completely stop responding. The screen gets corrupted with weird color patterns (I'll attach a screenshot). Xorg uses 100% CPU. Only a kill -9 will kill the process. I can't remember when it started. First it would do it once a week or so. Then it got gradually more frequent. Now it does it several times a day. I have noticed it to be more frequent when I'm using Wine or Crossover Wine, but this particular time I didn't have Wine open. I was using Chrome, Remmina, Terminal, and File Browser. Most recently I disabled the desktop effects (I guess that disables compiz) thinking the problem would go away, but it hasn't. The only thing I can do with the system at this point is a hard power off.
