Well, the benefit would be a single store for passwords/keys instead of every application having its own. Firefox is not the center of the universe, you know. If this feature won't be implemented, then you should close this bug report. What is the benefit of keeping a feature request open for 7 years if you "don't see this happening any time soon"?
