Title:
  Saved images do not contain EXIF data

Status in “cheese” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  When saving photos, Cheese does not attach any EXIF data to them.

  When such photos are subsequently imported into Shotwell, the
  creation/modification of appropriate Shotwell "events" (which appears
  to require "date taken" EXIF data) does not occur.

  While the date/time taken are initially available as a last-modified
  timestamp on the file itself, simple operations on the file (such as
  adding/removing tags using Shotwell) will result in that information
  being lost.

  Minimally useful EXIF data written to these photos would include "date
  taken." A "software" value (e.g. "Cheese v2.32.0") might also prove
  handy.

  $ apt-cache policy cheese
