@sebastian but it used to work in gnome 3.4. Volume control is not such a problem, because you can just leave overview mode and adjust it. But, what if you search for a program or file whose name contains both latin and greek characters and what if you chat with someone and you want to combine greek and english words (something really usual in my case ;) ?
