It will be helpful if you can restart gnome-settings-daemon with this command "killall /usr/lib/gnome-settings-daemon/gnome-settings-daemon; /usr/lib/gnome-settings-daemon/gnome-settings-daemon --debug &> g-s-d-debug.txt" and perform the test again, then attach the log file g-s-d-debug.txt to this bug.
