Public bug reported:
Steps to reproduce:
Set up a network bridge (br0) managed by systemd-networkd via netplan
NetworkManager reports limited connectivity because it cannot see the bridge
Open gnome-software → Updates tab shows "No connection"
Expected behaviour: gnome-software checks for updates regardless of NM
connectivity state, or correctly detects connectivity via the active
interface
Actual behaviour: Updates tab permanently shows "No connection", though
updates are found and installed correctly after reboot
Workaround: None currently — updates do install despite the message
Additional context:
nmcli networking connectivity check returns limited
curl -I http://connectivity-check.ubuntu.com returns 204 No Content with
x-networkmanager-status: online
packagekit transactions all succeed
No network-related errors in journalctl for gnome-software
