You have been subscribed to a public bug: In Ubuntu, the Activities overview is usually not shown after login. If I understand correctly, that's controlled via the org.gnome.shell.extensions.dash-to-dock disable-overview-on-startup setting.
However, in the authd end-to-end tests, we do see the test VMs start with the Activities overview quite frequently. We see this both in Noble and Questing VMs (the only releases we currently test). The gnome-shell versions used in the tests (46.3.1-1ubuntu1~24.04.1authd10 on Noble, gnome-shell - 49~beta.1-0ubuntu4~authd3 on Questing) are from the authd- edge PPA (https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-enterprise- desktop/+archive/ubuntu/authd-edge), but I don't expect the issue to be related to the patches specific to these versions. The logs don't show anything that seems to be related. ** Affects: gnome-shell-extension-ubuntu-dock (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Fix Released ** Affects: gnome-shell-extension-ubuntu-dock (Ubuntu Noble) Importance: Low Status: New ** Affects: gnome-shell-extension-ubuntu-dock (Ubuntu Questing) Importance: Low Status: New ** Affects: gnome-shell-extension-ubuntu-dock (Ubuntu Resolute) Importance: Undecided Status: Fix Released ** Tags: noble questing -- GNOME Shell sometimes starts with the Activities overview opened https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2145704 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell-extension-ubuntu-dock in Ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
