In your presentation today, it appeared the dock was only half loaded at
the time of the login animation. So that supports my original theory,
unless it was just a video compression artifact.

If true then we either ignore the bug completely (because we can't
change the extension load semantics in a stable release), or consider
backporting the new patch from Resolute to Noble. But I don't think the
issue is common or important enough for that.
