"Window snapping" in its purest form was actually disabled a couple of years ago because it made window dragging feel glitchy. So it sounds and looks like you are trying to disable "window tiling".
I can confirm that it's unreasonably difficult to fully disable tiling, but it is possible: 1. Settings > Ubuntu Desktop > Enhanced Tiling = OFF 2. Settings > Multitasking > Screen Edges > Window Resize = OFF ** Package changed: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) => gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) ** Summary changed: - Disabling Window Snapping + It's too hard to fully disable window tiling ** Changed in: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Low -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2145174 Title: It's too hard to fully disable window tiling To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/2145174/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
