Public bug reported:

I noticed that PreLogin and PostSession scripts don't work anymore when
testing the 26.04/resolute daily build.

This is caused by the fact that the functionality was removed upstream
in X11 cleanup work. However, these scripts are used and required in
Wayland as well.

I created https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gdm/-/issues/1059 upstream for
this.

Is there an existing alternative to PreLogin and PostSession? If not, I
respectfully request that the removal be reverted and the functionality
restored.

PreLogin and PostSession scripts are very important in corporate
environments. In our case, they are used to sync the user's home
directory on login and logout from/to a server.
