This can be reproduced by creating a new empty score, adding some notes,
setting an instrument name and finally activating the ambitus. The ambitus is
not shown.
Alternatively, create a new empty score, add some notes, activate the ambitus
command, it will show as it should. Now set the instrument name. The ambitus
will disappear.
I guess that the issue has something to with both commands using the \with
syntax at the definition of the staff in the lilypond file, and the instrument
name overwrites the ambitus.
