-1 (non-binding)
+1 for a 0.4 release ASAP.
In more detail:
I'm not happy with the progress of DeltaSpike. There hasn't been a
release for 7 months. To use newer features on trunk which are urgently
needed, people have to build their own private releases.
DeltaSpike was announced as the joint successor of Seam and CODI, both
of which are discontinued, whereas DeltaSpike is not mature enough yet
to fill the gap.
I found Seam more or less unusable in a non-JBoss environment due to
lots of unwanted transitive dependencies, but Seam at least had decent
documentation, whereas DeltaSpike documentation is still too sketchy to
be useful.
Leaving the incubator now will likely result in some media coverage, so
that prospective users might take a look and be deterred by the
unfinished state of things, and never come back.
I think it's better to have a 0.4 release as-is very soon and then a 0.5
with a focus on documentation and stability before leaving the incubator.
Best regards,
Harald
