Hi Vincent, > > I'm considering adopting. However: > That is excellent news. xl2tpd is still a valuable piece of software and I am pleased someone is interested in adopting.

There is documentation there on how to get packages into Debian. If you like, rather than go through the normal process of soliciting a sponsor, you can contact me directly when you have an upload prepared and I will review it and sponsor your upload. For information on building packages, I wrote an article [1] several years ago that covers customizing an existing package (taking over an existing package is a very similar process). The only thing I would say is that I wrote that article before cowbuilder existed, so I suggest that you use cowbuilder instead of using pbuilder directly for your builds. Also, make sure to check out the documentation at the Debian Developers' Corner [2]. As far as the RC bug, you may want to contact upstream. I have found them to be responsive in the past, so that is likely a good starting point. Additionally, I have the complete package history in Git back to version 1.1.11. If you like, I can clone my local repository onto git.debian.org so that you can clone it from there and maintain the complete history. Let me know if you would like for me to do this. Also, if you have any questions about the package please don't hesitate to ask.
