The new J2EE installs into /opt just as the openoffice does. I have not file, just a .bash_profile.dpkg-dist in /etc/skel and one new user account I made. This is all commented.
Where else might PATH be set globaly? BTW: OpenOffiice works as is, even after I took off the older jdk from /usr/share and installed the larger J2EE to /opt. Jazz (java MIDI) does not come up.
